Application:

Ethanoyl chloride is used for the manufacture of organic compounds, dyes and pharmaceuticals. It is an important acetylation reagent. The ability of acylation is stronger than acetic anhydride. Ethanoyl chloride is also a catalyst for chlorination of carboxylic acids. It can be used as quantitative analysis for hydroxyl or amino groups.

Ethanoyl chloride is an important organic synthetic intermediate and acetylation agent. It is widely used in the field of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, new electroplating complexing and many other fine organic chemicals synthesis. In the pharmaceutical field, it is often used as raw material of acetylsalicylic acid; N-Phenylacetamide; Acetylcholine chloride; bromadiolone; nabumetone; paracetamol and ibuprofen.
